Our 2019 Committee
Here is our 2019 Committee! They will be working tirelessly to bring you the best trips, events and club atmosphere on campus!
Liam is back again for his third year on committee and ready to make it his best year yet. Always up for a sesh be it rainbow serpent or a muski trip. He embodies every part of ski, party, love. You'll often catch him rocking pink hot pants or delaminating his skis. A champion of the back country, he shreds on and off the piste. We’ve got nothing but respect for our president.
Long-time MUSKI member Eddy should be considered as the backbone of the club. You’ll find him on the d-floor about to start a dance cult doing the notorious muski dance or watch him shake vending machines for more chocolates all whilst being told “if you shake it again I’ll shake you” by the bouncer. With two whole years of experience (now three), Eddy knows the club like the back of his skis. This boy chopped off his luscious locks in a bid to win cards – if that’s not club dedication, what is? All in all Eddy's one of the goats of MUSKI, a great skier and an even greater person. Don’t underestimate his stature because with a voice deeper than the Mariana Trench, he’s sure to seduce you into buying a drone.
(10% of drones if you mention the word "trenchcoat")
I honestly have no idea how many years Elliot has been part of MUSKI cause he’s old as shit. The MUSKI veteran has seen too many years on committee, highlighted by a year at the helm as President in 2018 (his second proudest achievement to date, after an Under 13s state swimming bronze medal), but is going around for one last ride. Descending from Hotham Royalty (his dad has a run names after him) Elliot had tough shoes to fill from day one. While he hasn’t lived up to the family name (his dad also co-owns Shaw Davey Slums with Melbourne Footy Club Legend Aaron Davey), he’ll be sorely missed after this year so embrace your time with this man (not because he’s leaving but because he’s old and I don’t see him making it through this year).
Ev only rhymes with one word - bev (just ignore chicken Kiev) - and this says a lot about her priorities. After a record 4 (four) Muski trips in 2018, she’s back again and this time with a seat on Committee. Ev is easy to spot on the mountain, just look for her colour coordinated outfit and deliberately ‘laid back’ technique. No matter the situation though, you can count on her to bring the good times and shit banter.
Some say there are two types of people in the world, the Beyonces and the back up singers (soz @Michelle and @Kelly). In MUSKI, Josh sees a similar split - himself and everyone else. So how does one sum up someone as irreplaceable as our resident Queen B? Luscious locks, boho headbands and Savers' finest outfits are merely the tip of the iceberg. Always down for a boogie, Josh instantly lifts the energy in a room and will probably look better doing it than any of you, especially if he's rocking his old Oktoberfest dress again. However, unfortunately, we're not all perfect. Need proof? Ask any committee member about Josh's disturbing habit of sucking in other people's burps (you okay, Josh?). However, despite his flaws, we're all keen for this second-year committee member to make his mark on the world of ski hire this year. Tl;dr: Who runs the world? Josh.
A cappuccino is an espresso-based coffee drink that originated in Italy, and is traditionally prepared with double espresso and steamed milk foam. Variations of the drink involve the use of cream instead of milk, or a boy named Tom with a last name very similar to the drink. Don't let his commerce boy exterior scare you, he definitely knows how to let loose and have a good time. One of the newest committee members, and your new racing rep, he's ready to lead you to a win, and then lead you to the pub for a drink or 10, get around him and make his first year a good one.
Alright alright alright, Olivia Wood is a fun loving gal who brings party to our coveted ski party love vibes. She will sacrifice anything to keep the party going, whether it be sucking on the toes of other committee members or being fed like a baby bird, nothing is too demoralizing for liv.
When liv isn’t on crutches she can be found tearing it up on the slopes, believe it or not on either skis or gulps a snowboard. Though some of her other hobbies enjoy face planting at karaoke to avoid skiing with her dedicated and loving friends.
In all seriousness Olivia is a classic lovely girl ready to help you have a great season and an even better year. She WOOD do anything for her Muski fam
20 from Melbourne and grew up skiing at Mt Buller as a 3 year old getting pushed down the chutes on plastic skis. Arguably the best skier in the club. I try and do back to back winters as often as I can, chased the lifestyle to Italy, France and Japan.
I love being out on the mountain and happy to ski anywhere, especially if it’s exploring off-piste terrain with my friends. Catch me in the morning before I head out and I’ll happily show you some of my favourite spots on the mountain. Looking forward to skiing with you all this year and getting to know you on one of our trips 😊
Shout out to my sponsors myself, MUSKI and my friends. Oh and of course Mum, what a legend.
The “undisputed best skier on the mountain” (self-proclaimed), Jack skis like a fridge and will conquer any run, jump or bev. This man is as rare as a good season at Buller and with only five priorities in life (BBB&BB) he always delivers the good times. Hit him up for a shower beer or three, but be wary because this man will drink you under the table.
Alex is a first time committee member but has been a full time awesome and loving MUSKI member. She brings the good vibes and makes sure everyone is having a wholesome time. She likes tacos, letting people ride on the side of her 4WD and hours and hours of Yaeji’s raingurl on repeat. Catch her shredding the slopes and partying it up on the mountain but don’t let your eyes off her as she might wander out in the snow.
When she isn't first runner out of a short corner in her custom Nikes, or flogging high-end fashion at Alannah Hill, Jaimie can be found shredding the slopes or having a boogie at the Genny. She takes to her skiing like she does hockey; straight out, head first and without a care for what may (does) hit her. Jaimie, spelt with two i's (like a person), is one of the most caring and inclusive people in the club, but won't hesitate to call you out on your shit. She's definitely one of a kind and if you get to know her you won't be disappointed.
